High school maths moves fast. We help students keep up and fill any gaps from primary school.
Where maths gets abstract
Algebra turns up in Year 7 and suddenly maths has letters in it. The pace picks up too, and students who coped fine in primary school can fall behind quickly.
We work on whatever's happening in class this week and get ready for upcoming tests. If an earlier skill is causing trouble, we go back and fix that first.

Settling in
Negative numbers, early algebra and NAPLAN in March. Lots of students need to revisit primary topics they skated over.
Building algebra
Equations, graphing, index laws and probability. Year 8 is also when students sit the selective entry test.
Filling the gaps
If fractions or times tables are still shaky, algebra gets hard fast. We fix the foundation first.
Getting ahead
For students aiming at Year 10A or selective entry, we stretch beyond the class topics.
Questions parents ask
My child was fine in primary school. Why are they struggling now?
Really common. High school maths assumes a lot of primary skills are automatic. If one isn't, everything built on it gets harder. We find it and fix it.
Can you help with homework?
Yes. We'll explain the working so it makes sense. We won't do assessed work for them, though.
Do you prepare for the selective entry test?
